National Cat Day: A Celebration of Our Feline Friends
Celebrating Cats Worldwide
National Cat Day is celebrated on October 29th every year. It was created by Colleen Paige to bring awareness to the number of cats that need to be adopted.
Cats and Space
Cats are often seen as independent creatures that don't need much space. However, as a pet parent, you might be surprised at how little space cats actually need! They love curling up in cozy corners and are known for their ability to fit into even the smallest of spaces.
National Cat Day in the US and Canada
In the US and Canada, National Cat Day is an awareness day to raise public awareness of cat adoption. It takes place on August 8th in Canada and October 29th in the US.
International Cat Day
Effective since August 3, 2020, the leading cat welfare charity International Cat Care became the custodians of International Cat Day. They aim to promote the welfare of cats worldwide.
Conclusion
National Cat Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our feline friends and raise awareness of the importance of cat adoption. If you're considering adding a cat to your family, please consider adopting from your local shelter or rescue organization.
