Ollie Watkins Late Stunner Fires England to Euro 2024 Final

England striker describes reaching final as 'best feeling ever'

Late substitute Ollie Watkins has described reaching the Euro 2024 final as the "best feeling ever" after his dramatic injury-time goal secured a 2-1 victory over the Netherlands.

The Aston Villa forward, who was making his first appearance in the tournament, came off the bench to score the winner in the 93rd minute, sending England into their first major final since 1966.

"It's an incredible feeling," Watkins said after the match. "I've dreamed of moments like this since I was a kid. To score the winning goal in a major semi-final is something I'll never forget."

Watkins' goal came at a crucial time for England, who had been trailing to the Netherlands since the 20th minute. The Three Lions had fought back to level through Harry Kane's penalty in the 65th minute, but it looked like they were heading for extra time until Watkins struck.

The 29-year-old striker said he was "just happy to help the team" and that he was "proud of everyone" for their performance.

"We've come so far in this tournament," Watkins said. "We've had some tough games, but we've never given up. We're now one game away from making history, and we're going to give it everything we've got."

England will face Italy in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday
